Waldenstrom's macroglobulinemia associated with Hodgkin's lymphoma: a case report
نویسندگان
چکیده
Waldenstrom's macroglobulinemia/lymphoplasmacytic lymphoma (WM/LPL) is a low-grade B-cell non-Hodgkin's lymphoma with an indolent clinical course. Higher-grade non-Hodgkin lymphoma (NHL) and therapy-related myelodysplasia/acute leukemia (t-MDS/AML) have been reported in patients with WM/LPL in previous studies. However, only two cases with WM/LPL were reported to develop to Hodgkin lymphoma (HL). Here, we report the first case of WM/LPL who developed classical HL simultaneously 3 years after initial nucleoside analog-based chemotherapy.

متن کاملWaldenstrom's Macroglobulinemia: A Report of Two Cases, One with Severe Retinopathy and One with Renal Failure
We report here two cases of Waldenstrom's macroglobulinemia (WM), one with central nervous system (CNS) symptoms and severe retinopathy and one with renal failure. In both cases, the serum IgM levels exceeded 3,000 mg/dL and monoclonal IgM-kappa was observed in the blood. At onset, Case 1, a 63-year-old female, developed CNS symptoms-namely, drowsiness and syncope. Case 2, a 58-year-old male, h...
متن کاملIn Waldenstrom's macroglobulinemia the quantity of detectable circulating monoclonal B lymphocytes correlates with clinical course.
Using a sensitive flow-cytometer-based method of detecting small numbers of morphologically normal monoclonal B lymphocytes, we have investigated the presence and quantity of these cells in the blood of 12 patients with Waldenstrom's macroglobulinemia. All 12 patients, including 6 at the time of asymptomatic presentation, had such circulating monoclonal cells. By comparison, 2 of 7 patients wit...

متن کاملA Case Report of Hodgkin's lymphoma with Early Manifestation of Henoch-Schonlein Purpura in a Child
Hodgkin's lymphoma is one of the most common types of lymphoma among children, usually characterized by persistent head and neck adenopathies that are unresponsive to antibiotic treatment. In rare cases, the primary manifestation of this malignancy includes paraneoplastic, immunological, and vasculitic syndromes in children. Here, we introduce a 13-year-old boy, and Hodgkin's lymphoma was initi...
